Audience Insights begins work on customer data file analysis, first step of multi-phase, three-year research project underwritten by the Paul Allen Foundation and the Oregon Cultural Trust.

April 28, 2006
Final consultant report delivered to UO administration and Festival.

May 1, 2006
Audience research surveys mailed to 5,000 Festival previous and current buyers.

May 18, 2006
Festival receives preliminary data file analysis reports from research survey.

June 1, 2006
Royce Saltzman announces his transition from executive director to an emeritus position focusing on fundraising for the Festival’s $10 million endowment.

June 30, 2006
In-concert audience surveys undertaken.

July 3, 2006
Executive Director search begins with job announcement posted through numerous professional publications and networks and UO human resources. Brad Foley, dean of UO School of Music, is search committee chair. Job is posted as “open until filled.”

July 9, 2006
Gifts totalling $1.2 million from the Stangeland Family Foundation and the Thomas Wildish family are announced, pushing the Festival’s endowment total halfway past its goal of $10 million.

July 16, 2006
Festival ends with 5% increase in ticket sales income over previous year, reaching 92% of its goal.

September 19, 2006
Oregon Bach Festival board has first meeting to discuss proposed changes to board structure.

September 22, 2006
Festival receives first “topline” report of audience survey analysis.

October 7, 2006
Register-Guard publishes story on the Pappas report.
