Rilling Conducts Bach at Carnegie

January 2, 2007

East Coast fans of the Festival have the opportunity to enjoy Helmuth Rilling conducting Bach’s St. Matthew Passion in Carnegie Hall Saturday, January 13 in New York.

Maestro Rilling conducts the Carnegie Hall Festival Chorus and the Orchestra of St. Luke’s in the conclusion of the annual Carnegie Hall Choral Workshop.

Rilling’s Carnegie Hall soloists include James Taylor, Klaus Häger, Sibylla Rubens, Ingeborg Danz, Thomas Cooley, and Michael Nagy. All except Nagy have appeared as soloists with the OBF. Our own Kathy Saltzman Romey prepares the Carnegie Hall Chorus.

The concert takes place at 7 pm in the Stern auditorium. For ticket purchase, go online to the Carnegie Hall box office.

We hope to see you there. For information on Festival and University of Oregon-related events in New York, contact Jane Scheidecker.
