Grammy-winning conductor Helmuth Rilling, who in February received rave reviews for conducting this same work in Carnegie Hall, leads stellar soloists, chorus and orchestra in the vivid, day-by-day depiction of the emergence of the earth and heavens, flora and fauna, and the paradise of Eden. Brandenburg Concertos June 29 7:30 pm | First United Methodist Church Portland Baroque Orchestra is one of the pre-eminent period-instrument orchestras of our country and ensemble-in-residence at this year’s OBF. Performing all six of Bach’s great concertos the way the composer might have heard them, PBO instills these virtuosic works with sparkle and vitality. OBF soloists Guy Few (Baroque trumpet) and Boris Kleiner (harpsichord) lend their talents to director Monica Huggett’s ensemble. In addition to regular prices, a premium-priced $75 VIP ticket includes a pre-concert reception at the Multnomah Athletic Club. |
