Trio Con Brio kicks off winter chamber series

The winter series of ChamberMusic@Beall begins this Sunday, January 17th at 3 pm with the captivating Trio Con Brio.

Trio con Brio Copenhagen—the Korean sisters Soo-Jin Hong (violin) and Soo-Kyung Hong (cello) and the Danish pianist Jens Elvekjaer—cast a spell over audiences with their sparkling musical dialogues accented by a commanding range of timbres, expression, and emotion. “Accomplished, sensitive musicians” (New York Times) and “greatly gifted” (Gramophone) they’ve won a slew of international prizes, including the 2005 Kalichstein-Laredo-Robinson International Trio Award. Their Beall Hall program exemplifies their range and capabilities, anchored by Ravel’s ravishing Trio—a technical masterpiece—and including a dramatic trio by Shostakovitch and the dance-inspired “Dumky” by Dvorak.
