Evans authors Britten cover story

Benjamin Britten’s epic War Requiem will be performed frequently in 2013, as the year marks the centenary of the great composer’s birth. Our own John Evans, OBF executive director and president, has contributed to the recognition with his cover story essay on the masterwork for the latest edition of The Voice, the national trade publication of Chorus America.

John has authored many publications on the composer’s life and works, has lectured extensively in the UK and North America, and most recently edited Journeying Boy: The Diaries of the Young Benjamin Britten.

More of Britten’s music will be performed during the 2013 OBF over the course of three concerts that celebrate significant composer anniversaries, including those of Verdi and Richard Wagner.
