This year’s gala celebrates the 20th anniversary of Stangeland Family Youth Choral Academy (SFYCA), a cornerstone of OBF’s educational programming. Since its founding in 1997, this life-changing experience has planted the seeds of a lifelong love of music in the hearts and minds of thousands of young people. Over the years, we have watched those seeds grow and blossom into new and dedicated generations of musicians, audiences, and arts advocates.

While current SFYCA students arrive to Eugene to begin their course of study, we hope you can join some of the Festival’s most loyal supporters as we honor SFYCA and raise funds to sustain this and other vital OBF programs into the future. Live entertainment from University of Oregon’s Mind the Gap, multiple members of which are SFYCA alums, will complement an inspiring program of food, fun, fellowship, and fundraising!

A Midsummer Garden Party
Enjoy a memorable summer evening at a private garden party for up to 16 people with special guest Richard Danielpour, OBF’s 2018 composer-in-residence, hosted by Julie Gemmell and Charlie Stanton. Share this wonderful and unique treat with friends, family, or business associates. The atmosphere will be casual; the food & wine from Stanton Vineyards will be exceptional!

From his 2005 opera, Margaret Garner, with Toni Morrison, to his many commissions for celebrated artists such as Yo-Yo Ma, Emerson String Quartet, and Jessye Norman (to name just a few), Danielpour has established himself as one of the most gifted and sought-after composers of his generation. OBF will present the world premiere of his new 80 minute oratorio, The Passion of Yeshua, at the 2018 Festival. Celebrate the premiere and personally connect with Richard at this lovely alfresco party!

This party may be scheduled with Julie and Charlie for an evening during the 2018 Oregon Bach Festival season to enjoy the stunning, outdoor setting. Special thanks to Julie Gemmell and Charlie Stanton.
