I can't wait until October 17 and the opening concert of the ChamberMusic@Beall season. The Jerusalem Quartet is first up in the Beall Concert Hall series, and they are about as splendid and shining as a quartet could be. That's probably why BBC magazine called them "as near to perfect as one can possibly find."
The concert is Sunday October 17. To hold me over until concert day I've been playing some of their videos. The only thing that's not perfect about the group is the proportions of their video screens - for some reason the box is squished - but the music is terrific. This is the fugue from Haydn's Op. 20 No.5, which is on the program. Enjoy!
