OBF Kids: Strings, puppets, and voices
Each year, the Oregon Bach Festival invites families to bring their children to experience the joys of music together. For 2013, OBF presents Around the World with Radim Zenkl on Saturday, June 29, and Pinocchio on Saturday, July 13. Both events take place at Soreng Theater in Eugene's Hult Center. Tickets cost $5, and can be purchased online here or at the door. The OBF Kids series is sponsored by SELCO Community Credit Union. Around the World with Radim Zenkl The first concert features Czech multi-instrumentalist Radim Zenkl. Join Radim on an adventure across six continents as he showcases his world of percussion, string instruments, keyboards, and traditional flutes. Zenkl keeps the audience on their toes through participation in singing, keeping rhythms, and lessons in geography and music history. Around the World with Radim Zenkl takes place at 2 pm, June 29. Pinocchio OBF Kids' second presentation brings the magic of Pinocchio to the stage. The classic tale, produced by Portland's renowned Tears of Joy Theater, will be reenacted in a fusion of live action, puppetry, comedy, music, and dance. Join Pinocchio on his quest as he comes nose-to-nose with Fire Eater, the Blue Fairy, talking donkeys and a magical penguin. Pinocchio takes place at at 10 am, July 13. OBF is also proud to include PICCFEST Gala under our OBF kids umbrella. Join guest director Henry Leck as he leads the Pacific International Children's Choir Festival in their annual gala concert. Over 250 children from across the U.S. and Canada will perform an array of songs sure to strike a chord with the audience. PICCFEST Gala takes place at First Baptist Church of Eugene at 7:30 pm Sunday, July 7.
