Berwick Academy presents a thrilling evening of Bach and Handel

  • Jun 29, 2015

Fresh off the successful Beethoven concerts last weekend, the Berwick Academy now shifts its focus and instruments to the Baroque era. Legendary conductor Masaaki Suzuki will lead the ensemble of talented young professionals from all over America in a brash and thrilling concert of masterpieces on Friday, July 3. Guest artist Monica Huggett rejoins the ensemble and Academy member Chloe Fedor for a performance of Bach’s Concerto for Two Violins in D minor.

The wealth of talent that comprises the orchestra is also featured in two other famous Bach works, the Brandenburg Concerto No. 1 and the Orchestral Suite No. 3, famed for its beautiful second movement.  Though not as well known, Handel’s  Concerto Grosso in G Minor contains a Musette, one of the most tender and beautiful works he ever wrote.

Come see what full houses in Eugene and Portland last weekend already learned, the Berwick Academy is one of the most exciting acts of the 2015 OBF season.
