Virtuoso Organist Paul Jacobs Returns to Portland

  • Jul 3, 2015

Grammy award-winning, virtuoso organist Paul Jacobs returns to Portland Tuesday, July 7 to astound audiences with his profound command and mastery of “the king of instruments.” Of his recent appearance with the National Symphony Orchestra, a Washington Post critic wrote, “I have seldom heard an orchestral audience leap to its feet and whoop at a solo organ piece, but the adulation was well deserved.”

Eugene audiences last week were thrilled by a program that includes the celebratory Bach Sinfonia from Cantata 29, the lush choral preludes by Brahms, and dazzling sets of variations by the late Romantic composer Max Reger, all performed in Portland’s Trinity Episcopal Cathedral on the incredible Rosales Organ, one of the finest in America.
