The 2016-17 Chamber Music @ Beall concert series is a true celebration of strings this year with six dazzling performances planned. The season runs October 2016 – March 2017 and features phenomenal musicians from all over the world.

Emerson String Quartet - Oct 2, 2016 | 3pm

One of the world’s most sought-after string quartets, the Emersons will open the season with works by Ravel, Grieg, and Debussy.

Russian String Orchestra - Oct 23, 2016 | 3pm

Boasting some of Russia’s great classical musicians, Russian String Orchestra brings to life an all-Viennese program featuring Mozart, Schoenberg, and Schubert.

Ching-Yun Hu, Piano - Nov 20, 2016 | 3pm

With her directly communicative performance style, Ching-Yun Hu enraptures audiences. This fall, she’ll be performing works by Scriabin, Schubert, Chopin, and Rachmaninoff.

Phantasm - Jan 29, 2017 | 3pm

This consort of viols is unlike any other. Award-winning and electrifying, the quartet will explore Elizabethan-era composers such as Tallis and Byrd, as well as works by Bach and Mozart.

Dover Quartet with Avi Avital - Feb 18, 2017 | 7:30pm

With a special Saturday night performance, Dover Quartet and Avi Avital bring something special to the Beall Hall stage. Dover Quartet truly is “the young string quartet of the moment” as dubbed by The New Yorker, and Grammy Award-winning Avi Avital only adds to the excitement of the evening.

Trio Solisti - Mar 12, 2017 | 3pm

Passionate and full of zealous abandon, Trio Solisti has a reputation for virtuosic, insightful performance. Presenting works from Beethoven, Brahms, and France’s Chausson, it is a night of masterworks and musical insight.
