Bach lived his days some 270 years ago, but he gets his night April 17 as the Oregon Bach Festival presents its annual Bach Night season preview party. This year's edition takes place at the new Wildish Theater, 630 Main St. in Springfield at 7 pm. Featuring the CD release of the Festival's new Haydn mass recording, and live music with Trio Voronezh, the free event is sponsored by SELCO Community Credit Union. Bach Night includes:
  • A tour of the 2007 Festival concert schedule in video and audio clips
  • Insights and information offered by George Evano, the Festival's director of communications
  • Live music from Trio Voronezh, the UO Sax Studio, and last year's Bach Remix winner DJ DV8
  • Door prizes from local merchants including Cornucopia Bottle Market, Fifth St Public Market, LTD, the Oregon Bach Festival, and others.
The grand prize, donated by the UO Bookstore, is an iPod loaded with Oregon Bach Festival CD recordings. A special part of the night will be excerpts from the newly-releaesed CD of Haydn's Creation Mass, recorded live at last year's OBF and issued on the Hanssler label.
