Chuang-Levin Duo provide a Valentine's Day treat

  • Jan 21, 2010
This February 14th at 3pm, ChamberMusic@Beall presents a Valentine's Day gift to piano lovers, delightful music from the renowned Chuang-Levin Duo. Favorites of Oregon Bach Festival audiences, the husband and wife virtuoso-team of Ya-Fei Chuang and Robert Levin astound with their individual mastery and, as a duo, with the sensitivity of their musical dialogues. Chuang first performed on television in her native Taiwan at the age of eight. Levin is renowned for his ability to improvise and embellish cadenzas in the style of Mozart and Beethoven. As soloists, they regularly appear in the world's great concert halls. They return to Eugene for a dazzling keyboard program that features a Mozart fragment that Levin himself completed, to duo works by Poulenc and Rachmaninoff, to Brahms's Variations, an ever-changing and ultimately triumphant musical tour de force. Tickets start at $16 and can be purchased at the Hult Center and online.
