Tix now on sale for Portland, Bend, Ashland

In Portland, the OBF presents a five-concert mini-festival June 27-July 9 that highlights four different choral groups and concludes with Beethoven’s mighty Symphony No. 9. The schedule includes:

Monday, June 27: Portland Baroque Orchestra with violinist Monica Huggett, chorus, and soloists performing Purcell’s Dido and Aeneas and two works by Benjamin Britten (First United Methodist Church)

Thursday, June 30: the Stangeland Family Youth Choral Academy offering an hour-long showcase concert (Trinity Episcopal Cathedral)

Wednesday, July 6: Schola Cantorum de Venezuela, a 35-voice choir conducted by Maria Guinand (Trinity)

Thursday, July 7: David Higgs recital on the magnificent Rosales organ (Trinity)

Saturday, July 9: Handel-Ode for St Cecilia’s Day, Beethoven-Symphony No. 9 with conductors Matthew Halls and Helmuth Rilling (Arlene Schnitzer Concert Hall)

Portland tickets are available via a five-concert package or individually by phone or through online order. The PBO/Dido and Aeneas concert travels to Bend June 28 at the Tower Theatre and Ashland June 29 at the Southern Oregon University Recital Hall.
