What is so unique about Bach festivals that has encouraged musicians and audiences to continue to flock to them, even through economic recession? Their community connection and many other factors are investigated in the spring edition of Symphony, the magazine of the League of American Orchestras.
In the spotlight right in the middle of the magazine is Back to Bach, a six-page spread by Melinda Bargreen. It features quotes by OBF's Helmuth Rilling and John Evans, and a stunning photo of the Hult Center lobby by OBF photographer Jon Christopher Meyers. One can almost hear the lively conversations as patrons mingle after one of last year's Festival concerts. How many people can you identify?
A complete version of Symphony is available online. Back to Bach begins on page 34.
