Sold Out: Rilling Motets, Hewitt Goldbergs

  • May 22, 2012
The Oregon Bach Festival today announced the first two sellouts of its 2012 season: Helmuth Rilling conducting Bach Motets and concertos July 11, and pianist Angela Hewitt performing Bach's Goldberg Variations July 14. Both concerts take place in Beall Concert Hall in Eugene. For those attracted to those Bach programs but who missed out on tickets, there's more available in other concerts. Tickets are still available, though nearing capacity, for the Portland Baroque Orchestra's string arrangement of the Goldberg Variations July 2 and Matthew Halls's July 9 harpsichord program of Bach keyboard concerti. Good seats are available in Silva Concert Hall July 7, when Halls conducts the choir, orchestra and soloists in Bach's Lutheran Mass in G, the first time the joyous work has been heard at the Festival in nearly 30 years (1983). That concert also includes Michael Tippett's A Child of our Time. Festival 2012 dates are June 29-July 15. General ticket information is on the Festival website ticket page, http://oregonbachfestival.com/tickets. Read All
