Opening concerts dedicated to Allan Price

The opening concerts of the 2012 Oregon Bach Festival will be dedicated to the memory of Allan Price. [caption id="attachment_8196" align="alignleft" width="192" caption="Alan Price and Lilah Stangeland during the 2006 announcement of her major gift to the Youth Choral Academy"][/caption] Formerly vice president for advancement at the University of Oregon, Price was instrumental in the formation of the Oregon Bach Festival’s Saltzman Endowment. He facilitated many important gifts and introduced new donors to the Festival. At his death Price was senior vice president for advancement at OHSU and president of the OHSU Foundation. The two concerts June 29 in Eugene at the Hult Center and June 30 in Portland at the Arlene Schnitzer Concert Hall feature violinist Joshua Bell, conductor Helmuth Rilling, and the Festival soloists, choir, and orchestra in great works by Mendelssohn. Price died February 17, 2012 at the age of 56. This memorial was published by the University of Oregon.
