Halls Steps in for Moscow Mozart

  • Oct 22, 2012
Matthew Halls, OBF artistic director designate, has answered an emergency call to conduct the Moscow Chamber Orchestra the Musica Viva for an October 26 concert in Moscow's Tchaikovsky Concert Hall. Matthew replaces the indisposed conductor Sir Roger Norrington in an all-Mozart program featuring keyboard soloist Robert Levin. It will be Matthew's first collaboration with the frequent OBF guest soloist and lecturer. The program includes Mozart's Symphony No 33, Piano Concerto No. 20, and Symphony No 36, the "Linz," and is available via the World Concert Hall's Live Stream service. After Moscow, Matthew makes his way back to Eugene, where he'll conduct choirs from the UO School of Music and Dance in a free concert at the First United Methodist Church November 10. Read All
