You can ensure the future health of the OBF by making a planned gift. Planned giving refers to charitable gifts that require some planning before they are made, and may provide tax advantages for the donor. The OBF partners with the University of Oregon’s Office of Gift Planning to provide individuals with information about these types of gifts. Here are some of the more popular planned gifts:
Planned gifts that pay you income Charitable Gift Annuity Charitable Remainder Trust
Planned gifts that the OBF can use today Outright Gifts Charitable Lead Trust
Planned gifts to the OBF after your lifetime Bequest Life Insurance Retirement Plans Retained Life Estate
Tribute gifts are a special way to celebrate or honor someone important in your life while supporting the OBF at the same time.
Memorial Gifts If you would like to remember someone who loved music and the OBF during his or her lifetime, you can make a gift in that person’s memory.
Honorary Gifts You can also make a tribute gift to honor someone special on an important occasion such as a birthday, anniversary, or something special they are celebrating.
You will receive a receipt for your donation and your tribute will be recognized in the annual Program Book. We will also write to family members or friends, as you request, informing them of your thoughtful gift to the OBF in honor of, or in memory of their loved one. (The amount of your donation will be kept confidential.)
Other Ways to Give
In addition to cash donations, you can help support OBF in these ways:
Gifts of appreciated stocks Gift of appreciated stocks may provide tax advantages to you while you provide for the OBF.
