Composers Symposium

Program Website

Emerging composers from around the world gather every other year to engage in a community of creativity and collaboration. Professor Robert Kyr of the University of Oregon is program director. Components include concerts of works created by symposium participants and workshops with esteemed composers in residence.

Such composers as Martin Bresnick, Osvaldo Golijov, Tan Dun and Krzysztof Penderecki have shared their talent and experience in the symposium.

In 2013, celebrate creativity and innovation through “Living Music,” including more than 30 premieres by emerging composers who are participants in the Composers Symposium. Master artists-in-residence Craig Hella Johnson (Conspirare Company of Voices), Fireworks, and Beta Collide perform these works with the American Creators Ensemble (ACE).

Please note: tickets for these events are now on sale through tickets.com and the Hult Center ticket office. All concerts held at Beall Concert Hall.
